I have been playing music and in bands since I was ten years old. I have vivid memories of bringing my snare drum up to a friend's house in Rapid City, trying to keep up with whatever was on the radio in a converted garage we used to jam in. I never stopped. Over the years I've played in bands across the Denver and Boulder area, then in New Jersey, and now in Idaho. Along the way I picked up keyboards and bass, and started writing songs in the mid-1980s.
I've been fortunate to play alongside musicians of real talent throughout that time. The Robert Vernon Group is the culmination of those experiences and partnerships — a group built from the players I make music with today and the ones I made music with years ago. Its purpose is simple: to share music for the sake of the art itself. We move between genres rather than staying in one lane, and I hope you enjoy where it takes us.
